The opulent dining room, with its crystal chandeliers, high ceiling and ornate decor, makes a suitably grand backdrop to The Royal’s award-winning food. As one of only thirty venues to be listed in the famous Michelin Guide since its inception, we aim to give diners an exceptional culinary experience.
Our expert kitchen team create sensational modern British dishes using the freshest seasonal produce, including crab and lobster from nearby Ventnor Bay, foraged sea herbs, lamb and beef from Island-based Cheverton Farm, and locally grown garlic, tomatoes, asparagus and heritage vegetables.
We know that the freshest seasonal ingredients result in the most flavoursome fare for our guests, and are proud to source locally-grown vegetables, award-winning cheeses, free-range meat, game, and seafood from the Island’s own farmers and fishermen.
Starters feature creative culinary combinations such as pan-roasted wood pigeon with beetroot and salsify, and flamed mackerel with cucumber ketchup, while Main Courses include such favourites as crispy belly of pork with homemade black pudding and beer-pickled onions, roasted loin of venison, and pan-fried sea trout with egg yolk ravioli. Puddings range from orange soufflé with bitter chocolate sauce to rum-roasted pineapple and warm ginger cake.
Our Table d'Hôte menu is served daily from 6.45pm - 8.45pm and costs £40.00 for 3 courses.
Whether you are looking for an intimate supper for two in our elegant restaurant, or a group celebration in one of our private dining rooms, dinner at The Royal will always delight, surprise and satisfy.
